Spring Vegetable Baked Rice: Delicious Combination

spring vegetable baked rice

The use of high-quality, sustainably harvested rice has been a key component of our menu at Eleven Madison Park, and this Spring Vegetable Baked Rice has been one of my favorite dishes to prepare at home for friends and family. I can easily alter the flavor based on the items that are in season while maintaining the recipe and cooking method. It’s simple to move to a plant-based diet; consider doing it one meal at a time; it’s not necessary to make the changeover all at once. It’s growth, not perfection, as we frequently remark. Being a plant-based restaurant, our goal is to demonstrate how delectable a meal can be. Let’s explore with vegetablenew.com!

Peas – I made use of frozen little peas. One of Spring Vegetable Baked Rice Ingredients

Rice – Any long-grain rice would do for this dish; I used basmati. Because of its smell, I suggest jasmine rice. Long or medium-grain brown rice can be utilized. Use only rice that has been cooked and cooled. Simply divide it with a fork or your hands if it congeals. Allow the rice to cool and steam out for at least an hour if it has just been cooked.

Ginger – Ginger will give the food a light, almost citrus-like taste. For this dish, ginger can be grated or chopped.

Garlic – You’re welcome to add more than simply 6 cloves of garlic if you like it. Garlic powder is acceptable if fresh garlic is not available.

Green Onions/Scallions – We’ll use the white part of the green onion for the cook. The brighter, greener portion of the onions or scallions will then be used to garnish the spring vegetable baked rice.

Carrots – We are utilizing carrots that have been thinly cut and finely diced. Remember that thicker portions may require longer cooking times. If necessary, substitute frozen carrots for fresh ones.

Asparagus – Without asparagus, what is a spring dish? The thicker asparagus stalks I used had a wonderful bite, so I utilized them. But being slim is OK too. Asparagus stems that are thinner will cook faster.

Spinach – You are welcome to adjust the amount of spinach to suit your tastes. Cabbage, kale, and bok choy are among other leafy vegetables that may be utilized in spring vegetable baked rice.

Soy Sauce – Use gluten-free tamari or soy sauce to avoid gluten. In this dish, I just used a small bit of soy sauce. Add additional salt if you don’t think it’s salty enough.

  3. Set a small cast iron or Dutch oven on a medium-heat burner.
  4. Once the saucepan is hot, add the grapeseed oil and ginger slices, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  5. Once the ginger has become translucent, add the rice to the saucepan along with the water, asparagus stalks, sesame oil, soy sauce, and rice vinegar.
  6. Stir the rice often while cooking it to prevent burning and sticking.
  7. After the rice starts to boil, add the bok choy, asparagus tops, and sugar snap peas on top of the rice.
  8. Cover the top of the rice with the lid firmly, then bake the cast iron or Dutch oven for 30 minutes.

After the rice has finished cooking, remove it from the pot and let it cool for approximately five minutes at room temperature. Then, open the lid and stir the rice, integrating all of the crispy pieces off the pot’s edges.

Easy spring vegetable baked rice that just takes 10 minutes! A nutritious spring meal packed with local veggies. Serve as the main course or a side dish:

Step 1: Set the oven to mark 6 at 200 °C (180 °C fan). Butter will melt when heated in the oven after being added to a large roasting pan or serving dish.

Step 2: Stir in the courgette, leek, garlic, and salt after gently removing the dish or tin from the oven after the cheese has melted. Once more, roast the veggies in the oven for 20 minutes, stirring once, or until they begin to soften.

Step 3: Take the dish or pan out of the oven and stir in the risotto rice, coating it well in the oil. Combine the stock, lemon juice, and zest after adding them. Rice will be practically soft after 15 minutes in the oven if the dish/tin is securely covered with foil (there will still be liquid in it).

Step 4: Take the dish or pan out of the oven, then toss in the remaining ingredients. Recover with foil and re-bake for 10 minutes. When the rice is cooked and has absorbed the liquid, remove the foil and simmer for a further 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 5: Taste the food for flavor before adding more cheese and mint. Serve.
